One of the most sought-after neighbourhoods in Toronto, Leaside is known for its abundant green spaces and beautiful parks. Its charming houses are located on large lots, and are often appointed with beautiful detailing. This area is especially desirable by families with children, for its community centres and playgrounds.

The most famous house in Leaside is James Lea's, at 201 Sutherland Drive. Constructed in1909, it is unique in that the rear of the house faces Sutherland Drive. It was originally built to face a street that has ceased to exist.

Shopping in Leaside 

Leaside Shopping Take a stroll down Bayview Avenue,  south of Eglinton,  to enjoy the wide range of stores and international restaurants. Be charmed by the antique shops and other specialty boutiques that cater to children and adults alike.

You will also find larger grocery stores and services along  Eglinton Avenue, on both the northwest and northeast corners at Bayview.   

 

 

Further east, at Laird Drive, there are several big name stores such as Home Depot, Future Shop, Canadian Tire, Pier 1 Imports, and Petsmart.
